Low cost luxury on the beach

Beachouse swing ... the largest beach swing in the Pacific!

...getting to the Beachouse, Coral Coast Fiji

The Beachouse is on the Coral Coast, halfway between Nadi and Suva.

If there is just one or two of you, you will be best served to use Fiji’s public bus service.  In 99% of cases you will be using a Pacific Bus (yellow) or a Sunbeam Bus (blue and white).

If you are in a group you may want to hire a cab or minivan (this can be arranged through us).  This does cost about FJ$120 for pickups from Nadi, Suva or Denarau Marina.  You need to use cabs or minivans after the bus service stops (about 6pm)

By local Bus....a must do Fiji Experience!!

From Nadi Airport: - 100km approx FJ$12.00 (get a bus going towards Suva)
From Suva: - 80km approx FJ$ 10.00  (get a bus going towards Lautoka)
Some basic maths shows you that local buses are a really cheap way to get around and see Fiji.

If coming from Nadi to the Beachouse ... get a bus that is going towards Suva.
If coming from Suva to the Beachouse ... get a bus that is going towards Lautoka (were the service terminates).

There are two kinds of buses, Express & Stage buses, try to get Express buses as they do not stop at every village, will generally save you about 30 minutes on a trip to the Beachouse.
See Bus timetables here

From Nadi Airport

The first bus comes through Nadi Airport at 7am daily (Pacific Express) & the last bus is at 6pm. Taxi drivers at the airport may try to convince you that there are no more buses that day, as they are trying to get you to hire a taxi. The bus trip takes approximately 2 hours from Nadi Airport and costs about FJ$12.00 per person.

When waiting for the bus at Nadi Airport

it is best to stand/sit outside Esquires Cafe (near the Departure Lounge),watch for the bus coming around the airport circuit.  It is a big bus and will have ‘SUVA’ written above the front windscreen ... this is the bus you need to wave down and catch.  In Fiji you need to wave an arm up and down in front of you  to stop a vehicle, it makes it easy for the driver to see that you want him/her to stop.
All buses stop at the Beachouse (about 40 minutes after the Sigatoka stop when coming from Nadi).  The Beachouse stop is just after the bus has climbed up quite a steep hill (first real hill after Sigatoka), The Beachouse entrance is a further 200m down the road after climbing the hill. The bus drops you at the entrance to the Beachouse and it is only a 2 minute walk to the Resort and the beach.

If you are staying at a Nadi Hostel

a shuttle pickup can be organised for FJ$20.00 per person for a midday pickup (just call our toll-free number 0800 6530530).
Our staff will let you know if the shuttle will run on that day (depends on numbers).
Please note that this is a hostel pickup (not an airport pickup) that occurs once a day at around midday (it saves you from having to go to Nadi town to get the local bus), the shuttle does not meet flights as it is only in Nadi for an hour.

If your plane arrives in to Nadi Airport in the evening (after 5pm)

... you will miss the last 6pm local bus.
We recommend one of 2 practical options:
  1. Hire Harry's Taxi/Shuttle through the Beachouse for FJ$120 (1-2 passengers) plus FJ$20 per extra person.  Harry's shuttle is the most practical way to get down, particularly if there is more than one person to share the cost.
  2. Stay a night in Nadi -  Spend the night in a Nadi Hostel.  Generally there are free shuttles to the hostel.  The following day you can get the Beachouse for around FJ$10.00-FJ$15.00 on local buses departing from the Nadi main bus terminal and heading towards Suva.

If you are coming from the Awesome Adventures boat

...

that arrives at Denarau (Nadi) at 5.30 - 6.00pm:  Get the Awesome Adventures bus to drop you in Nadi Town, make your way to the Nadi Town Bus Depot.  If you miss the last Pacific Express Bus (leaves at 6.20pm). You will be able to get a minivan to the Beachouse for FJ$15 (approx) ... this is an unregulated service that continues until about 9pm from next to the main Nadi Bus Depot.  The trip wil take about 1 hour 30 minutes in a minivan.

The Beachouse reception closes at 11pm, so please advise us if you are coming down in the evening so we are expecting you.
